Chemistry Teacher, Chemical Operator & Chef

to Packaging Supplier

Dalila, Loubna & Yamina Atia

Few Edmontonians heard of European style culinary display packaging until Dalila Atia and her daughters introduced them        to our city in September.

“I am a certified pastry chef who wanted to open a coffee and pastry shop. With my full-time work as a Chemical Operator, it was difficult to do so even though I baked and catered for personal events.                                                                                                        Yamina, Dalila & Loubna Atia

I would travel to Montreal or Paris to shop for and buy special packaging, pastry tools and ingredients to be able to bake my French pastries. When I was jealous of them and commented on the lack of such supplies in Edmonton ABC Emballuxe asked me, ‘Why don’t you open your own store there?’  That's how everything started!

It took two months to set up, after a week to decide with my daughters. I wanted to offer that which I loved and found in Montreal and Paris to the pastry chefs and bakers here in Edmonton,” says Dalila.

“It was very easy to find a location, plus I love this place. Many pastry stores are nearby. It is central and many people search online for supplies to save time and to have them delivered. We serve all provinces from Manitoba to British Columbia.

At the Alberta Gift Fair we showcased our supplies.   As pastry chefs, we point out how to use them. We also order items from other suppliers to suit specific needs. We have more supplies than our online catalogue shows.  For example: ice cream and chocolate molds, ramekins, etc.”

Rogers Place, Boulangerie Bonjour, Danielle La Chocolate Belge and Jacek Chocolates are local clients, plus Éclair de Lune, Manuel Laturwe, and Savour Cafe in Calgary, and Baguette & Companie    in Vancouver.

Next Plans:

“We plan to introduce more products to be like an Ali Baba Cavern where everyone will find every supply they need.  We bring innovation to the business.  Products are recyclable, compostable and our wooden pastry packaging even withstands oven temperatures over 400 F.

We know the pastry industry and limits of caterers. We supply per unit purchases instead of insisting on large, bulk purchases like many wholesalers do.  Chefs experiment with one item to discover how to use the items.  Home bakers also benefit from these quality packages, including visually appealing packaging from Europe.

We are a family business and we LOVE what we do and what we have to offer. We decided to open this business to offer Edmontonians as well as all western-Canadians an innovative and diverse approach to the culinary world. Our clients are our family and we make sure we grow as a whole. We are confident that with the variety of choices we offer, you will find something that suits your needs.
