About African Safari Restaurant

As a young child I grew up in the restaurant trade living with parents who owned several restaurants in Mogadishu, Somalia. My grandfather had passed the business down to my father in 1958.

As a teenager, I started to learn more and more about the complexities and rewards of owning a restaurant. When I was just a young man at age  of 22 I decided to follow in my family's footsteps and inherited my very first restaurant. The experience I gained throughout my childhood allowed me to achieve success, but as the hardships grew more and more unbearable in Somalia I was forced to shut my restaurant and immigrate to Toronto, Canada.

Having already experienced the restaurant industry I decided to rejoin the business and opened up my second restaurant in May of 1994. Owning my own business in Toronto was a joyous experience but as the economy started to struggle so did my restaurant, and as a result I moved to the booming city of Edmonton. In the summer of 2004, I opened up my third restaurant in downtown Edmonton. Since then I have expanded my restaurant and have built a strong connection with my customers. I am happy to serve my wonderful customers and hope to make many more enjoyable memories for the years to come.
