Canada-Alberta Job Grant is now accessible to more employers

Responding to what employers asked for, the number of training hours required to qualify for the Canada-Alberta Job Grant have been lowered. As of Monday, April 18, 2016, training programs that are a minimum of 21 hours in length will be considered for funding. Applications signed and submitted on or after April 18 will be processed according to the new requirement.

The Canada-Alberta Job Grant supports Alberta employers of all sizes, in developing a strong workforce through better-trained workers. The application process is simple. You determine the training that your current or new employees require and a third-party trainer to deliver the training, and apply for funding. If approved, the Canada-Alberta Job Grant will cover up to 2/3 of the direct cost of training.

Since the Canada-Alberta Job Grant launched in October 2014, more than 2,000 Alberta employers have been approved for over 14,000 different training programs.
