We would like to inform you of an upcoming traffic and parking disruption!

Starting in early May, both north‐bound lanes of 105 Street between 104 Avenue and 105 Avenue will be closed to traffic. The southbound lanes of 105 Street will then become a two‐way road allowing one lane for north bound and one lane for south bound traffic. Left turns onto 105 Avenue from 105 Street will still be possible.

This is expected to last for approximately two years in this area as the City of Edmonton conducts sewer renewal and upgrade services as part of the Downtown Revitalization initiative.

Normal work hours are: Monday – Friday, from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with some overtime hours as required. This will subject nearby businesses to some noise during these working hours.

Drainage Services’ laydown site also includes the park area just west of the MacEwan University LRT
station along the east side of 105 Street at 105 Avenue. During the time of construction, this park area
will be fenced off and all benches will be removed. Access to the LRT from MacEwan University will be
maintained.

Project Background
Over the next four years the City of Edmonton’s Drainage Services will be upgrading and rehabilitating
the storm water and sanitary sewer system in your neighbourhood. This project is part of the Downtown
Revitalization initiative funded by a Community Revitalization Levy (CRL) passed by City Council in 2014.

The work being undertaken by Drainage Services is necessary to meet the storm water and wastewater
needs of the new businesses and residents that are expected to move downtown because of this
revitalization work. The upgraded system will also help reduce combined sewer overflow and basement
flooding for existing businesses and residents in the area.

Tunneling work started in December 2014 at 107 Street and 111 Avenue. The project will end at 105
Street and 100 Avenue in December 2018.
