Spring Clean Up Is Upon Us

Spring clean up is upon us after our very mild winter. Even nicer weather attracts us to these great spring clean up ideas with Capital City Clean Up (CCCU):

·        Adopt A Block Volunteer – Sign up by May 1st as an Adopt a Block volunteer to adopt your favourite block, park or trail.  Volunteers receive a free clean up kit with: garbage bags, gloves, litter grabber and supplies to make work easy. Volunteers are asked to pick up any litter once a week from May 2 – September 18. See video

·        15 to Clean Challenge - A simple way to do spring clean up, is to join our 6th Annual 15 to Clean Challenge

week April 24-30. You are asked to take fifteen minutes that week (or in spring or summer) to pick up litter. A free clean up kit (green garbage bag and glove) can be picked up at any Edmonton Public Library April 24 - April 30.

·        Business Supporting Community – Businesses can sponsor a local non-profit to clean up in front of their business and around the block once /week for an hour starting May 2.  The Businesses pay a non-profit $40/hour/week for 16 weeks for a $640 cost.  The Business’ block is cleaned, the business becomes known by customers as community minded, and supports a local non-profit.  A win-win-win all around! Register by April 15.

·        Graffiti Removal – For graffiti vandalism on your property that you couldn’t remove in winter CCCU helps you. Visit the web site to see the
