Our Role

A Business Improvement Area (BIA) is the combined effort of businesses to accomplish mutual goals. These goals include safety, beauty and fun places to shop and spend leisure time with family and friends.

Note that NEBA is independent of City of Edmonton; However, NEBA works alongside the City of Edmonton and the 13 other BIA's.

How do we obtain funding?

The city assesses businesses in BIAs using net market rental value for the purposes of levying a BIA tax for the revitalization projects within the BIA.

BIA assessment and tax notices are mailed to all businesses within BIAs in Edmonton in February.  BIA tax payments are due March 31.
